1. Community Support:
People believe in the work of the Women's Team. Parents entrust us to teach their children in our own way because they see it is effective. They often tell us that their children are learning so much from the Women's Team.
2. Support from Teachers:
Not only parents, but teachers also acknowledge the value of the Women's Team. They advise parents to involve their children in Women's Team activities because they see that the children are learning in new ways. As a result, more and more children are attending our sessions.
3. Growing Numbers:
Many children are asking permission to participate in our programs, and attendance continues to grow. We can tell that our work is needed and appreciated because there is an ever-increasing demand for it.
4. Revenue-Generating Initiative:
Women's Team members recently started making bags and purses to generate income with the goal of becoming a self-sufficient organisation. Many women have expressed an interest in participating.
5. Friends and Donors:
The Women's Team has no permanent funding or donor base to support its programs. We appreciate the generosity of our friends and donors, without whom our past and current projects would not be possible. Many people believe that only large organizations are worthwhile, but friends of the Women's Team recognize that small teams like ours can also be effective.
1. Limited Space:
The Women's Team is fortunate to have many participants, but it does not have sufficient classroom space for them. We currently meet in a house but generally the children sit outside because we have outgrown the available space. This makes teaching difficult, especially when the weather is bad.
2. Staff Shortage:
We only have two teachers who work on a volunteer basis, and we cannot support the number of children who are interested in the Women's Team programs. We have to turn children away and explain to parents that we lack the staff and resources to open up spaces for more children to participate. We do not want to say no to children who want to learn.
3. Lack of resources:
We lack resources and teaching materials. Our participants vary in age, and we want to use different methods for different age groups. Since we have very few teaching materials, it is often not possible to adapt the materials according to age or academic level. We lack resources for supplementary programs as well. For example, we started women's health meetings but had to discontinue them due to insufficient resources.
4. Lack of funding:
We are not able to start new programs or expand our programs to different areas because we lack funds. Many people offer suggestions about other needs the Women's Team could fill, but we are unable to take up new projects when our existing ones are suffering from funding shortages.
5. Marketing Difficulties and Lack of Materials for Bag-Making:
Though we think the bag-making project has potential to help create a more sustainable funding base for the Women's Team, we lack the proper space and resources to make it successful. Further, we are experiencing difficulties marketing and selling bags at this time.
